Mexico represents a strategic location for the aerospace industry development and has become a natural partner for the manufacture of sensitive products to U.S. national security as well as United Kingdom, Canada and France

With over 40 established firms, the State of Baja California represents a unique opportunity to 35% of companies in Mexico that assemble and manufacture aerospace parts and components. In the State, most of these companies are concentrated in Tijuana and Mexicali.

This is an effort to work under the same perspective as high level public servant and companies involved in the development of local productive chain.

Tijuana’s geographic location as a Mexican border town gives way for potential business success:

• Proximity to California market and fast access to the United States.
• Growth in urban infrastructure and communications.
• Young and service-minded population with educational development.
• Ability to transfer knowledge and technology.
• Pro-business vision and focused on developing clusters.
• Flexibility in manufacturing.

The proposed Forum is an effort to consolidate a multi-national vision that requires the effort of many players in the city economy. This event encompasses a vision of unifying the various levels of government and private sector throughout the region.

Objective

To present, at a multinational level, Tijuana’s potential for suppliers as well as the development of the aerospace cluster thus creating an effective industrial chain in the area.

Mission

To provide the necessary tools that will consolidate the aerospace industry in Baja California, with the continued participation of a working group comprised of government agencies, companies and local suppliers.

Vision

Become a leading area for aerospace standards, a place where suppliers seek certification in order to offer an excellent product for the aerospace companies that are established in Baja California and thus provide a higher value, preserving the commitment to develop the aerospace sector all the while applying global quality standards.

Also, create a venue for discussion, analysis and concrete proposals to tackle the challenges of infrastructure in the region, bringing together government officials, diplomats, academics and businessmen linked directly to regional development of this area of the world.

The intention of this event is for each of the business and consular representatives to present business opportunities, challenges, and proposals that include a strategically located region with specific characteristics that make up the Tijuana metropolitan area.
